NL Wild Card Race

Since the beginning of August, first place in the NL Wild Card has bounced around from the Cardinals, Marlins, and now the Brewers.

I honestly think that the reason the Cardinals didn't stay in first since the start of August is because of the injuries sustained to Aroldis Chapman and Jorge De La Rosa. Since De La Rosa came back he is 2-0 with a 2.36 ERA in 3 games. The Cardinals promoted prospect Gil Ramero for Aroldis and since promoting Gil he is 0-2 with a 6.67 ERA in 5 starts. The Cardinals are 81-68 and 3 games out of the Wild Card.

The Brewers were tied with the Marlins in the Wild Card after sim 10. After the 11th sim the Brewers became first in the Wild Card passing the Marlins. The Brewers went 21-8 in August which really implemented that they could have a shot to win the Wild Card. If the Brewers can get consistent wins they will most likely make it to the playoffs.

The Florida Marlins have gotten worse in September, having a 4-10 record. On June 7th the Marlins did a trade with the Dons getting Nick Barnese. This trade really helped the Marlins considering that Nick is 10-0 on the Marlins, but now that he got injured it might cost the Marlins a playoff spot. Another pitcher that has really helped the Marlins this year is 29 year old Hector Noesi. Hector is 17-6 getting the most wins he has ever got. He was signed by the Marlins on March 1st 2016.

The Team I see winning the NL Wild Card is the Brewers, seeing that the Cardinals and Marlins were plagued by injuries to Aroldis Chapman and Nick Barnese.
