Interview with Angels GM Onelessreason

Question 1: Do you think 2016 could be the year the Angels become World Champions, considering that you are running away with the AL West?

Answer 1: We are hopeful.  We feel we have had a strong team since the inception of the league.  The issue is the league has a good bit of teams that are capable of winning it year in and year out.  We tried to tweak a few things that we feel should help put us over the hump this year.  Only time will tell.

Questions 2: You have done many trades in 2016, so which trade do you think has helped your team the most?

Answer 2: We have been doing some moving and shaking.  It's hard to narrow it down to one trade specifically but we really liked the additions of Elvis Andrus and Starlin Castro.  We feel they are two players that will help us not only for the 2016 campaign but well into the future.

Question 3: Which trade (if any) do you think hurt your team the most?

Answer 3: Well; only time will tell on that.  We will say we did not like giving up Jose Conchula.  We were in talks with the Cubs and wanted to deal Byron Buxton (who looks like a really good prospect himself) but after it was vetoed we had to draw up another deal to get Castro.  Jose Conchula was going to fit into our plans for a while.  That one still stings.

Question 4: Since you will most likely make it to the playoffs, which team do you think would give you the most competition?

Answer 4: Great question.  The AL is always tough with the Boston Red-Sox and New York Yankees always having quality teams.  The Central is hard to keep a grasp on as they always change leaders.  In the NL, we'd say the Reds and Brewers are pretty tough road blocks.

Question 5: Which player do you think is your best hitter? Also which player is your best pitcher?

Answer 5:  Tough questions.  We feel each player offers something different and unique.  I'll give the ole Wiley vets some plug here.  I'll go Justin Verlander at pitcher and Carlos Gonzalez as a hitter.  CarGo has been with us for many playoff runs and consistently delivers a high average and a lot of power.  Justin Verlander although acquired a season ago has been everything we've ever wanted and more.  He's a workhorse and a true ace.
