A 2016 IFA was traded

FLA/TOR

fla.jpg Gets:
SP Felipe Nunez (83)

tor.jpg Gets:
C Jason Kalin (72/80)

The Marlins GM FGM had this to say, "The Marlins accept this deal. Our starting pitching is pretty set, but we wanted that in between guy who can start or be a good reliever and believe we've found it in Nunez. We like what he brings to the table."

Braves and Dodgers trade

LAD/ATL

25yo RHP Carlos Martinez (86) $510,000 until Arb '17

24yo RF Mark Dunton (81/83) minors until Arb '19
LOS ANGELES (N) 2017 - 2nd

Atlanta GM had this to say "Martinez really turned it on last year, and our gut tells us he has another jump in him, to become a more-than-solid #3 or #4. he can simply overpower an entire lineup! unfortunately, with Siciliano waiting in the wings, his days were number in our rotation. Hudson can keep the chair warm, and Voldemort will serve as the alternate starter for now. Hudson will then move into that role upon Siciliano's promotion, leaving the long-term picture a big cloudy. picking up a 2nd hedges that risk, and Dunton is mostly a contingency plan, if our IFA plans go awry."

Yoensis moves from the East to the West

LAD/PHI

lad.jpg Gets

OF Yoenis Cespedes 88

phi.jpg Gets
SP Alex Fernandez Jr 73/86
OF Austin Jackson 85
4th round pick

The Phillies had this to say "With the acquisition of Matt Kemp, Cespedes is no longer in our plans. We need more of a CF type with some speed. Jackson will be part of a platoon in CF and improve our outfield defense. Fernandez lengthens our minors and is an older prospect who is still up in the air about how good he will be. 4th rounders are still a solid pick and could turn into a very useful player."

Decker Left

Former GM of the Yankees Decker91 left BMJ because he was banned from Free Agency for simming ahead to help with his bidding strategies on FA's. He also accused the BMJ staff of cheating.
Decker was the GM of the NYY for 1 week. He was here for Sim 10-ARB and simmed ahead to (as I said before) help with his bidding strategies on free agents.

1B Kendrys Morales (87) $8,000,000 until FA '18

PITTSBURGH 2017 - 3rd

Pittsburgh's GM icefreeze said this "I downgrade Morales for Speaks, but Speaks has some upside and Morales is wasting his talents on my team. He is worth all of 8M but for me I dont have the 8 Mill to give him. I move up a few spots from my pick in the 2nd to his pick at the end of the 1st. Hudson is moved, he is cheap for his overall but I have players waiting behind him and every penny counts. Neufled helps as a bench player with some upside, same for Weschel. Gunniston is interesting, may contend for a spot on my starting lineup if I can't find someone better to play SS. Overall I hate what I give up, but I like what I get back, helps my team long term."

FGM and Decker Sanctioned

The other day FGM put out a file before the recent one came out with simming turned on but it was fixed shortly after. But our NYY gm decker downloaded the file and simmed ahead to help with his FA bidding. As many of you know they also had a huge bidding war on Lincy.
So nwuhockey put a ban on FGM and Decker from signing FA's till Sim 1.
All the leading bids or FGM and Decker have been eliminated and all FA leads are updated now.

Interview with the GM of the 2016 World Champion Marlins: FuturemarlinsGM

Question 1: Did you expect Hector Noesi to do as good as he did?

Answer 1: Hector Noesi had a career year in his first season with the Marlins, so I highly doubt he will repeat that performance, especially given his vitals dropping somewhat over the last couple months of the season, but I fully expect him to continue to be an effective starter for us in helping us eat innings and win games.

Question 2: Do you think the only reason you made the playoffs is because you got Nick Barnese?

Answer 2: Sure acquiring Barnese provided a great boost to the rotation, but when you look at a team making the playoffs, you have to go down to the very basic concept of what defines a team.  It's all 25 guys on the roster coming together and performing and picking each other up when they may have off days.  Barnese was no doubt instrumental in that, but I believe it was our entire starting rotation performing very well as well as the call up of Cerero that got the Marlins into the playoffs this season.

Question 3: Which Free Agent do you have the most interest in?

Answer 3: As you could tell with my bidding thus far, I have had my mind set on acquiring SP Tim Lincecum and SS Stephen Drew.  Lincecum is such a rare super talent that's once in a decade type free agent.  He can instantly propel a solid team into a true contender.  As for Drew, the Marlins have made it no secret that we want a true upgrade at the shortstop position and Drew represents the best fit from the available free agents out there.

Question 4: At the start of the year did you think that the Marlins would win the 2016 World Series?

Answer 4: Honestly never even thought winning the World Series was possible for this team that was still in the rebuilding process of moving aging and expensive talent out for younger good talent.  In fact, making the playoffs was even a question in my mind since I wasn't sure how the revamped lineup would mesh.

Question 5: Do you think the Marlins have a chance to make it to the playoffs in 2017?

Answer 5: The simple answer: yes.  We feel like we have a proven team now that can possibly defend our championship yet again.  With just a few more pieces added, this team will definitely be set to contend yet again in 2017.

IFA's are posted

These are the scouting reports for all 2017 IFA's.
Send all bids to FuturemarlinsGM

SP Ric Flair

Throws: Left

Height: 6’ 0” Weight: 205 lbs.

Birthdate: 06/17/1990 (Age 27)

Scouting Report:
Flair is the definition of a finesse pitcher; featuring excellent control and decent movement, but little to no power. His fastball clocks out at most in the mid-80s. He’s also been known to be a proven innings eater as he can pitch far into games. Warning to NL teams though, he can’t hit his way through a paper bag. If you want the craftiest SP, then Flair is the man for you.

RP Brock Lesnar

Throws: Right

Height: 6’ 6” Weight: 275 lbs.

Birthdate: 10/13/1988 (Age 29)

Scouting Report:
Just like in real life, Lesnar brings the power and brings the pain. He brings the power with a fastball more powerful and with greater velocity than the phenom Aroldis Chapman. But he brings the pain also as he has little control over this power and his movement can be erratic at times. Just saying that if you thought John Rocker was crazy or that Chapman has the fastest stuff, you haven’t seen anything yet until you see Brock Lesnar.

C Bubba Ray Dudley

Bats: Right

Height: 6’ 4” Weight: 312 lbs.

Birthdate: 08/14/1991 (Age: 26)

Scouting Report:
Dudley is an absolute brick behind the plate, but also on the base paths. If you thought Benji Molina was slow, wait until you see Dudley. Nothing will get by this guy but being as massive as he is, his range of motion with his arm cuts down his arm some. At the plate, some compare him to a Ryan Howard. In Japanese baseball, he destroyed jumbo-trons with his power as he smashed 55 HR, but had an OBP in the low .300s. If you want a true slugging brick wall behind the plate, then Dudley’s your guy.

SS Shawn Michaels

Bats: Switch

Height: 5’ 10” Weight: 185 lbs.

Birthdate: 08/03/1993 (Age: 24)

Scouting Report:
Michaels displays good skills at all aspects of his game, but nothing really stands out. All his offensive vitals are solid across the board, but definitely not at star level. As far as his defense, he features fantastic range and very good fielding, but his arm is average. Just a heads up though, he has had a few injuries in his career which has his health in the low 70s, so he can be a risky acquisition. In addition, despite being just 24 years old, he’s already peaked. If you want reliability at SS, then Michaels can be stopper for you.

3B John Cena
Bats: Right

Height: 6’ 2” Weight: 240 lbs.

Birthdate: 09/24/1992 (Age: 25)

Scouting Report:
Cena definitely could be the missing piece for a team. He’s a consistent threat at the plate as he features good contact, well above average power, and a solid eye at the plate. Cena won’t be a threat on the bases but could steal a base here or there. But the questions come with his fielding. While he’s reliable in fielding, his lack of range and average arm could be an issue. Also, Cena has been through in an injury or two that, like Michaels, has knocked his health down to the low 70s. If you want a potential champ player at 3B, then Cena may be what your franchise needs.

CF Rey Mysterio

Bats: Switch

Height: 5’ 6” Weight: 164 lbs.

Birthdate: 07/19/1995 (Age: 22)

Scouting Report:
Mysterio is an absolute flyer. His speed and range in the OF is unrivaled by anyone in the league. He makes all the plays in the OF and could potentially be Gold Glove material. But there is one glaring weakness to his defense: his arm. He likely won’t be throwing out any runners from the OF with his arm. As far as his bat, he makes solid consistent contact and has a decent eye, but has little power to speak of as most flyers do. You’d be surprised to know that despite his highlight reel ways, he’s never been injured. If you want an underdog, high-flying outfielder, then Mysterio could be the solution.

If you want any of them PM FGM.

Worst Record in Baseball History

The 2016 San Diego Padres got the worst record in baseball history beating there previous record set in 2013 when they went 40-122. In 2016 the Padres got 37 games won and 125 games lost. The Padres were 69 games back, in the NL West.
The Padres did not do a trade during the 2016 season and only did some before April. The Padres had two major trades that included Jim Moore, Kyushi Morri, and Johnny Cueto all traded from the Padres. The first trade was on March 1st when they traded Jim Moore to the Diamondbacks for 3B Timothy Talton, SP Seth Brabazon, and SP Leon Martillo. The other major trade was the Padres traded LF Kyushi Morri, SP Johnny Cueto, and RP Donnie Joesph to Detroit for CF Drew Mackey, 2B Fernando Huaracha, SP Maurice Gillette, and RP Dan Jones.
I think if the Padres get better during the off-season they may not get 100 loses again.

2016 Playoff Predictions

MIL beats FLA, The Marlins have had an off month in September going 13-14, but the Brewers have been hot since August and I see them defeating the Marlins.

DET bets NYY, In 2016 i saw that the Tigers are 5-1 against the Yankees. So, I see that Detroit will not lose another to New York.

ALDS Predictions:

DET V.S. LAA

LAA wins 3-2

CLE V.S. BOS

CLE wins 3-1

NLDS Predictions:

CIN V.S. MIL

CIN wins 3-0

ARI V.S. ATL

ATL wins 3-2

ALCS Predictions:

LAA V.S CLE

LAA wins 4-2

CIN V.S. ATL

CIN wins 4-1

World Series Predictions:

LAA V.S. CIN

CIN wins 4-2

The Reds win the World Series.
I will give the results of the actual playoffs.

NL Wild Card Race

Since the beginning of August, first place in the NL Wild Card has bounced around from the Cardinals, Marlins, and now the Brewers.

I honestly think that the reason the Cardinals didn't stay in first since the start of August is because of the injuries sustained to Aroldis Chapman and Jorge De La Rosa. Since De La Rosa came back he is 2-0 with a 2.36 ERA in 3 games. The Cardinals promoted prospect Gil Ramero for Aroldis and since promoting Gil he is 0-2 with a 6.67 ERA in 5 starts. The Cardinals are 81-68 and 3 games out of the Wild Card.

The Brewers were tied with the Marlins in the Wild Card after sim 10. After the 11th sim the Brewers became first in the Wild Card passing the Marlins. The Brewers went 21-8 in August which really implemented that they could have a shot to win the Wild Card. If the Brewers can get consistent wins they will most likely make it to the playoffs.

The Florida Marlins have gotten worse in September, having a 4-10 record. On June 7th the Marlins did a trade with the Dons getting Nick Barnese. This trade really helped the Marlins considering that Nick is 10-0 on the Marlins, but now that he got injured it might cost the Marlins a playoff spot. Another pitcher that has really helped the Marlins this year is 29 year old Hector Noesi. Hector is 17-6 getting the most wins he has ever got. He was signed by the Marlins on March 1st 2016.

The Team I see winning the NL Wild Card is the Brewers, seeing that the Cardinals and Marlins were plagued by injuries to Aroldis Chapman and Nick Barnese.

Deadline Trades PT 2

CHW/NYY

chw.jpg get:

Ross Kays, SS, 77/80

nyy.jpg gets:

Grant Balfour, RP, 78, 3.5 mil until 2017

White Sox GM nwuhockey said this "Balfour has been a great piece in our pen the last few years but as we get younger and needed another IF we felt Kays would be a better fit."

LAD/LAA

lad.jpg Gets

71/81 Josh Hudley OF
76 Kevin Jepsen RP

ana.jpg Gets

IF Johnathan Herrera 83

This trade was vetoed by FutureMarlinsGM who said this "Herrera is an underrated IF given his impressive vital set in both hitting and fielding as he has 90+ fielding at both middle IF positions. He should command more than just an average throw-in reliever and a run-of-the-mill OF prospect."

NYY/CHC

chc.jpg gets
RP Brian McClughan 71/79

nyy.jpg gets
RP Kerry Wood 75

The Yankees get a average reliever in Kerry Wood and gives up a good spec.

Deadline Trades PT 1

CIN/PIT

Reds receive:

SP Chris Washington 82/87 - 26yo - $500k thru '19
SP Trevor Bell 82 - 29yo - $4m thru '16

for

Pirates receive:

3B Leon Ruby 66/86 - 23yo - $25,100 thru '19
Reds 2nd Round Pick - 2017
$4 million cash

The Pirates get two good specs from the Reds in Leon and the 2nd pick. The 2nd round pick could turn out really good or really bad for the Pirates, so only the future will tell who wins in this trade.
The Reds get a decent spot starter in Trevor Bell and a decent spec in Chris Washington. Washington needs to improve his vitals to be a good starter because his vitals now aren't that good. Bell does have good control and movement but I can only see him as a long or middle reliever cause he does have bad endurance.

CHC/ARI

ARI trade:
1B-Paul Brumbaugh 81

CHC trade:
1B-Tod Tolerton 72/84

Arizona GM Bearsfolife had this to say "I have a lot of 1B prospects but Tolerton was a guy that I felt like was fair compensation for giving up Brumbaugh. Brumbaugh is just a bench guy for me but has good contact abilities. Fair deal I think."

Sunday, August 5, 2012

nyy.jpg 2nd round pick
Trevor Friend, OF, 74/87
Vic Valdez, SP, 78/86

The new Yankees GM Decker had this to say about the trade "Yankees Accept need another bat to make the WC push Friend is one of my many 1b prospects I could afford to lose valdez never makes my rotation."

Seattle Completes two Trades

ARI/SEA

Arizona trades:
OF-Shawn Nelson 80

Seattle trades:
RP-Harold Schillan 79/81

Seattle receives a young and decent OF with good power and decent contact. Arizona gets a very good relief pitcher that has great control and movement.

SEA/CHC

sea.jpg Gets:
SP Zach Britton (82)

chc.jpg Gets:
SS Estelion Peguero (75/82)

Cubs GM CPBaseballFan had this to say "Estellion Peguero has good potential and will be good in the future."

Indians Release Five

On Saturday the Indians released five pitcher, four starters and one reliever.
They released:
RP Juan Jaine (75)
SP Kent Logan (73/75)
SP Art Kerrison (73)
SP Hector Rondon (68)
SP Randall Delgado (67)
The Player with the most value in the bunch is Juan Jaine. Jaine has very good power and I think he may be able to find a job elsewhere.

Pittsburgh Trades Blake Beaven

to pit.jpg :

21yo P Zack Bennett (74/82) minors Arb '19

to atl.jpg :

27yo P Blake Beaven (84) $3.2M til Arb '16

The Brave Manager s6xstringslash said this ''Bennett just keeps getting better -- to us, his ceiling has risen from middle-reliever to potential setup man. the knock on him is lagging development of his secondary pitches. but we're not asking for Taillon, either, instead bolstering the bullpen with a long relief/spot starter type in Beaven, whose control we covet. he's susceptible to the big fly (something Bennett rarely allows), but we're gearing up for the playoffs."

Marlins are looking for an Upgrade

The Florida Marlins are looking for an upgrade at shortstop. The Marlins current shortstop is Osvaldo Martinez, and Osvaldo is in his first season playing every day at short. Osvaldo is impressive in his first season playing every day, hitting .280 with 53 RBIs and 117 hits. Osvaldo has played on the Marlins since 2010.
The Marlins are 68-52 and are tied for first in the Wild Card with the Cardinals. The sole reason I think this is, is that the Cardinals have been plagued with injuries since Aroldis Chapman got injured. Right now it seems like the Marlins will win the Wild Card.
Now players that I could see the Marlins getting are, Hanley Ramirez 93 or Asdrubal Cabrera 90.
Hanley is on the Santa Ana Dons, who have said that there rebuilding. Hanley has very good contact and power and has good speed. Hanley is 32 and is making 17.1 Million until 2018, and in 2016 he has a .296 AVG and 20 home runs.
The Indians have showed much interest in trading Asdrubal considering that they have Chris Owings. Asdrubal is 30 and makes only 4.9 Million until 2018, and in 2016 he has a .249 AVG and has 5 home runs.

Interview with Angels GM Onelessreason

Question 1: Do you think 2016 could be the year the Angels become World Champions, considering that you are running away with the AL West?

Answer 1: We are hopeful.  We feel we have had a strong team since the inception of the league.  The issue is the league has a good bit of teams that are capable of winning it year in and year out.  We tried to tweak a few things that we feel should help put us over the hump this year.  Only time will tell.

Questions 2: You have done many trades in 2016, so which trade do you think has helped your team the most?

Answer 2: We have been doing some moving and shaking.  It's hard to narrow it down to one trade specifically but we really liked the additions of Elvis Andrus and Starlin Castro.  We feel they are two players that will help us not only for the 2016 campaign but well into the future.

Question 3: Which trade (if any) do you think hurt your team the most?

Answer 3: Well; only time will tell on that.  We will say we did not like giving up Jose Conchula.  We were in talks with the Cubs and wanted to deal Byron Buxton (who looks like a really good prospect himself) but after it was vetoed we had to draw up another deal to get Castro.  Jose Conchula was going to fit into our plans for a while.  That one still stings.

Question 4: Since you will most likely make it to the playoffs, which team do you think would give you the most competition?

Answer 4: Great question.  The AL is always tough with the Boston Red-Sox and New York Yankees always having quality teams.  The Central is hard to keep a grasp on as they always change leaders.  In the NL, we'd say the Reds and Brewers are pretty tough road blocks.

Question 5: Which player do you think is your best hitter? Also which player is your best pitcher?

Answer 5:  Tough questions.  We feel each player offers something different and unique.  I'll give the ole Wiley vets some plug here.  I'll go Justin Verlander at pitcher and Carlos Gonzalez as a hitter.  CarGo has been with us for many playoff runs and consistently delivers a high average and a lot of power.  Justin Verlander although acquired a season ago has been everything we've ever wanted and more.  He's a workhorse and a true ace.

The Dodgers GM Freshface had this to say "I did this trade because I needed a back-up catcher as the one I have now stinks. Also MeGee & Ching help me get more arms for the pen which is getting better."
The Angels get two future good players in Epner and Blackburn and two decent players in Siddorn and Hundly.
The Angels GM onelessreason said this about the trade "Accept think Herrera is underrated and Hester McGee can help Lad."

St. Louis loses Chapman for the Rest of the Year

The St.Louis Cardinals who are in first place in the NL Wild Card by 4.5 games. This is a big blow to the Cardinals rotation because; the Cards don't have any other pitchers that can fill the void of Chapman in their rotation.
Aroldis ruptured his cervical disc on July 22nd, and since Aroldis got injured the Cardinals are 6-3. I predict that without Aroldis the Cardinals might not make the playoffs.
