A New Era Begins For Washington
When the Mariners hired Arod12 on June 15,2012, he was a few steps away from making a run. 3 long years later he has been hired as the Washington GM. It ended Bitter sweet for him though. He reportly resigned from the team while comimg back and joining the Nationals. All he can do now though is rebuild and try to devlope the propsects. Washington has never made the playoffs in their short history in the MLB. Arod has the challenge of a lifetime and the opportunity to take down elite teams like the Marlins and up in coming Mets and Phillies. He said in his interview today "there was no-where to go but up. I wish Seattle the best of luck, but it was time for change". Arod will need all the luck he can get while his team has currently never had a .500 record ever in its history.
